Lighting the Collection
The Albright-Knox Art Gallery enjoys a worldwide reputation as an outstanding center of modern art. The permanent collection includes brilliant examples of Abstract Expressionism, Pop art, and art of the seventies and eighties, housed in the original 1906 building as well as the 1962 addition. Recent renovations in the 1906 building included removal of surface-mount lighting track, and installation of recess-mount BusRun^® Busway in restored plaster ceilings. The result is elegant and low-profile, while capable of handling large loads per feed. Fixtures with PAR-56 lamps provide the long throw necessary for eighteen-foot ceilings, and can hold multiple accessories, such as UV filters, spread lenses and baffles.
